Enquiring and Referring a Young Person


At Wirral Riding Centre we understand that each young person is an individual, their needs are individual to them and so is their journey - the steps they have already taken, their current journey and their future aspirations.

I am a school/educational setting/professional wanting to enquire/refer a Young Person

  • Email Stacey at clth@wirralridingcentre.com to provide the name, age/year group and basic details about your Young Person, be specific about number of days required
  • Be prepared to book in a visit for someone from school/educational to come and risk assess our setting
  • Get set up on the Wirral Portal - this is where we accept referrals, referral forms, EHCPs and register attendance of your Young Person
  • Complete our Service Level Agreement


I am a parent/carer wanting to enquire/refer a Young Person (my young person is enrolled in a school or educational setting)

  • If your Young Person is enrolled with a school, the referral must come via the school. It is our advice that you speak to your school setting before contacting us
  • Be prepared to book in a visit for you and your Young Person to come and visit our setting - we want to make sure your Young Person will feel happy and safe with us at WRC, the visit and the walk around can really help to ease any worries and gives your Young Person time to ask their questions
  • Complete the parent/carer consents and permissions form
  • Save the work mobile phone number so you have effective ways to communicate with us :)


I am a parent/carer wanting to enquire/refer a Young Person (my young person is NOT enrolled in a school or educational setting, this could be because they are currently with the LA awaiting a setting or are electively home educated)

  • If your Young Person has a LA caseworker, the referral will usually come via them.
  • If your Young Person is electively home educated or out of just out of education it might be that you can make the referral yourself so please email Stacey at clth@wirralridingcentre.com to provide the name, age/year group and basic details about your Young Person, be specific about number of days required
  • Be prepared to book in a visit for you and your Young Person to come and visit our setting - we want to make sure your Young Person will feel happy and safe with us at WRC, the visit and the walk around can really help to ease any worries and gives your Young Person time to ask their questions
